Shane Meadows’ excitement about his Stone Roses documentary is palpable in the film’s newly-released trailer.
“It’s not very often one of your heroes asks you to make a documentary about your all-time favourite band,” he enthuses in the teaser for The Stone Roses: Made of Stone.
The hugely-acclaimed band, perhaps best known for the hit singles I Am the Resurrection, Fools Gold and I Wanna Be Adored, reformed in 2012 after 16 years apart, and Meadows’ film captures the Roses in the build-up to their 2012 comeback gigs.
It also charts the history of the band, from their early ‘80s beginnings, through their mid-‘90s breakup and right the way up to their triumphant return last year.
The trailer showcases a welter of beautifully-shot footage of the band and its fans, and makes Made of Stone look like a must-see for anyone interested in the group:
The Stone Roses: Made of Stone will open in British cinemas on Wednesday 5 June.
