Based on Thomas Harris’s first Hannibal Lecter novel Red Dragon, the new series stars Casino Royale’s Mads Mikkelson in the title role, with The Big C’s Hugh Dancy as FBI agent Will Graham, a young and gifted criminal profiler.

Graham, who is troubled by his insights into the minds of serial killers, begins working closely with Dr Lecter on the most gruesome of crimes, unaware that his new colleague is actually a brutal murderer himself…

The hotly anticipated 13-part drama also stars The Matrix’s Lawrence Fishburne, The X-Files’ Gillian Anderson and Eddie Izzard, who stars as an inmate at the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane.

Hannibal begins on 7 May on Sky Living, with the first episode available via Sky On Demand from 1 May.
