Behind-the-scenes of the Veronica Mars movie Kickstarter campaign

See how series creator Rob Thomas and stars Kristen Bell, Enrico Colantoni and Ryan Hansen celebrated reaching their target of $2 million sponsorship

The Veronica Mars movie Kickstarter campaign made headlines earlier this month when the team reached their goal of $2 million sponsorship in less than twelve hours.

The news that a big-screen version of the popular American TV series – which ran for three seasons and starred Kristen Bell in the title role – would be made this summer delighted its loyal fans, many of whom contributed to the campaign.

The film, which is to get a limited release in early 2014 before being released on digital platforms, will star Bell alongside former co-stars Ryan Hansen and Enrico Colantoni. The trio, along with series creator Rob Thomas, reacted to the news in a new video charting the fundraising campaign, from its first backer to the moment the team broke the $2 million mark.

“I’m having a day filled with so many adrenaline spikes,” admitted Bell. “It was unreal waking up to so much enthusiasm about the film and the Kickstarter campaign.” Check out the video below for her full reaction to the news:
