Chloe Moretz, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Jim Carrey star in the first trailer for Kick-Ass 2.
The film sees the return of Hit-Girl and Kick-Ass as they build a band of citizens inspired to fight crime in costume, one of which is Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars and Stripes. But as the gang face up to the city’s criminals, the Red Mist plots to avenge his father’s death by building an evil army and becoming the world’s first real supervillian…
The first Kick-Ass film followed comic book fan Dave Lizewski (Taylor-Johnson) as he decided to become a superhero, inspite of his lack of powers or training. And from the look of the trailer, the comic book sequel looks set to be as packed full of explosions, elaborate costumes and kick-ass action as the original.
Jeff Wadlow is taking over the director’s chair for Kick-Ass 2 while the first film’s director, Matthew Vaughan – who directed Layer Cake, X-Men: First Class and Stardust – is returning as a producer.
