Paul Hollywood is heading to Hollywood to appear in the US version of The Great British Bake Off.
The star of our favourite cookery show is set to be a judge on The American Baking Competition, which will premiere on CBS on 29 May.
While Hollywood is sure to teach those Americans a thing or two about good bakes and soggy bottoms, he won’t be flanked by the lovely Mary Berry and comedy duo Mel and Sue. US comedian Jeff Foxworthy will be hosting the upcoming reality show, while chef Marcela Valladolid will be the show’s Mary Berry equivalent.
And Bake Off fans needn’t worry that Hollywood will be pulled in by his namesake’s bright lights. He may be heading across the pond but the silver-haired baker has already taken to Twitter to reassure us Brits that he’ll be back in the GBBO tent before too long:
NO I'm not leaving the UK bake off, but the American version will be fascinating for me, don't know how they'll cope with me mind! X

Phew! The tent just wouldn’t be the same without him…
Paul Hollywood’s new cooking show, Bread, airs on BBC2 soon.
