Games of Thrones star Charles Dance has revealed that work will begin on a fourth series of the sword-swinging HBO fantasy drama later this year.
Until now, the show’s bosses had left fans wondering whether or not there would be any further series of Game of Thrones after the show’s third season.
But Dance, who plays the villainous Tywin Lannister in GoT, let the cat out of the bag while promoting the DVD release of series two. He said: “We’re about to start season four aren’t we? This year.
“We get scripts pretty early on, much earlier on than in similar series, usually you get perhaps one episode and you just have to trust that what’s going to come in subsequent episodes is going to be as good as the one you’ve got.
“But in this I think there are six scripts already written, and we will probably be able to see them with more than adequate time to prepare before we start shooting.”
The third series of Game of Thrones will begin airing in the UK on Sky Atlantic on Monday 1 April, and you can watch an extended trailer for the new season below:
