Ben Affleck’s Argo and Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained have taken home Academy Awards for best original and adapted screenplays.
Chris Terrio picked up the award for best adapted screenplay for Argo, which told the story of the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis. The film was directed and produced by Ben Affleck who contraversially wasn’t nominated for an Oscar in the best actor cateogory.
Quentin Tarantino, who wrote and directed western Django Unchained, picked up the award for best original screenplay – a prize he previously won for 1994’s Pulp Fiction.
Argo has already walked away with an award for film editing and both films have received nominations for best picture.
