Strictly Come Dancing 2012: Injury could rule Denise Van Outen out

The actress and TV presenter is "in pain" after suffering a mild whiplash injury during rehearsals and may not recover in time for this week's dance

Denise Van Outen might not be able to dance in this weekend’s Strictly shows because of an injury suffered during dance rehearsals yesterday.

Van Outen injured her neck while practising for this week’s jive. After a trip to a physio confirmed that the star had suffered mild whiplash, her professional dance partner James Jordan tweeted: “I’m actually feeling quite bad now! Was really tough on @denise_vanouten this morning.. Until her neck really went.. I’m sorry!! #feelbad”

While Van Outen tweeted last night that she was “hoping I can jive tomorrow”, it seems a night’s sleep hasn’t done the trick. This morning the star shared her worries with her Twitter followers, tweeting:

Then she added:

While it looks like Van Outen will be putting her feet up today, it’s still unclear whether the star’s jiving injury will mean dancing is out of the question for the weekend too.

After last weekend’s waltz, Denise and James were fifth on the leaderboard with 25 out of 40.

It’s been an unlucky few days for the Strictly pair – professional dancer James Jordan broke his nose during training last week.
