The Rolling Stones have just released a brand-new song, which you can listen to below.
Doom and Gloom, which is taken from the band’s forthcoming greatest hits collection GRRR!, was given its first ever airing this morning at 8:15am on BBC Radio 2, when breakfast DJ Chris Evans played it twice, back to back.
Firmly in the tradition of classic Stones tracks like Gimme Shelter, Doom and Gloom is a driving, bluesy number with a catchy, sing-along chorus:
Produced by Don Was and recorded in Paris, Doom and Gloom will appear on GRRR! alongside another new track called One More Shot, which has yet to be released.
The new songs are the result of the Stones’ first studio session in seven years and Doom and Gloom has already been warmly received by fans on Twitter.
The Stones have also released an official GRRR! YouTube playlist, which features all the songs on the collection bar One More Shot, which you can check out here.
