Edith Bowman and Adam Buxton are teaming up to host a new weekend morning radio show on BBC 6 music.
Starting with their first show on 17 November, The Adam and Edith Show will run up until Christmas between 10am and 1pm every Saturday morning.
Adam is no stranger to the 6 music studio, having previously presented Adam and Joe with his comedy partner Joe Cornish as well as Adam Buxton’s Big Mix Tape.
He says: “I’ve missed being on the radio so I’m delighted 6 Music have let me back into the Big British Castle for a few weeks, albeit without Joe who is busy slaving in a dream factory somewhere. To stop me from shrivelling up with loneliness Edith Bowman is going to join me which I’m very excited about as she’s intelligent, professional, Scottish and a woman; qualities I value highly and in which Joe was almost entirely lacking. I just hope she doesn’t mind occasional shouting and stupidity.”
Edith, who is most well known for hosting Radio 1’s afternoon, weekend morning and reviews slot, has said that she is excited to be joining 6 music.
“I’m a big fan of 6Music and what it stands for so I am really excited to be joining the team and to be working with Adam. It’s going to be incredible fun although I know I will have my work cut out trying to keep up with Adam’s dance moves.
“It’s also great to have two radio homes,” added Bowman, “with Radio 1 where I am continuing my Review Show and now 6.”
James Stirling, Head of Programmes for BBC Radio 6 Music says: “BBC Radio 6 Music is all about sharing great alternative music with our audience. We’ve one musical foot in the past and one in the future and to do this you need passionate presenters with both a sense of humour and a desire to share record collections. I’m happy to say both Adam and Edith have these attributes in abundance. They will fit brilliantly at the heart of our Saturday schedule.”
Tune in to BBC 6 Music from 17 November for the Adam and Edith Show
