Skyfall: listen to seven minutes of Thomas Newman’s musical score

Hear a sample of the incidental music that will be featured in the 23rd James Bond film

It’s been a week since Adele’s Skyfall theme debuted online, and now Bond fans have the opportunity to listen to a seven-minute sample of the film’s musical score.

Skyfall’s music comes courtesy of composer Thomas Newman and is the first Bond movie since Die Another Day to have its score written by someone other than David Arnold.

Before Skyfall, Newman made his name as the composer of scores for Wall-E, Angels in America and The Shawshank Redemption.

The music heard in the sample clip sounds suitably Bond-esque and epic, while also containing some middle-Eastern tinges to reflect the film’s exotic locations:

Starring Daniel Craig as James Bond and featuring Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes and Dame Judi Dench among its cast, Skyfall will be released on 26 October in UK cinemas and 9 November in the United States.
