Elementary, the latest television incarnation of Sherlock Holmes, will be premiered on Tuesday 23 October at 9pm on Sky Living HD.
The show, which stars Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as a female Dr Watson, premiered to over 13 million viewers on CBS in the United States last month and is set to be one of the major pillars of Living’s autumn schedule.
Elementary places Sherlock Holmes against a modern day New York City backdrop. After a stint in rehab and a move from London, his father assigns a “sober companion” in the shape of former surgeon Dr Watson Holmes.
Despite Holmes’s eccentric ways, Watson has no choice but to accompany Sherlock as he continues his work assisting the NYPD in investigating the city’s most gruesome crimes.
Co-starring Aidan Quinn as Captain Tobias “Toby” Gregson, the show features show-stopping performances from an on-form Jonny Lee Miller, and an intriguing screen portrayal of Watson by Liu.
The programme’s first series will contain 13 epsiodes, each lasting an hour.
