Arnold Schwarzenegger, the actor and former governor of California, has made his first appearance on the American news/comedy programme The Daily Show. The Terminator star was there to plug his new memoir Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story, a book named after his 1990 movie – and host Jon Stewart was ready with plenty of film-related gags.
In a segment to be aired in the UK on Comedy Central tonight at 11pm, Stewart opens by asking Schwarzenegger: “We gotta get the elephant out of the room. Obviously what everyone’s thinking about when they look at this [book] is: what were you thinking with Jingle All the Way?”
Stewart soon moved on, however, to the section of the book that everyone in the US is actually talking about: the account of Schwazenegger’s affair with his family’s housekeeper, through which he has a 14-year-old son to add to his three children with his now ex-wife Maria Shriver.
“Couldn’t you just go to the future and then come back and kill that Arnold?” asked Stewart.
