Tom Daley celebrates impressive A Level results

18-year-old London 2012 Olympics bronze medallist scored straight As, sharing the good news with his 1.5 million Twitter followers

The average teenager will have awoken this morning with an uncomfortable blend of nervous anticipation and trepidation as they ponder the A Level results that, when opened today, will determine their future.

But the average teenager has not had to fit their homework around an intensive training programme, the lofty expectations of a nation and, tragically, the death of a parent.

Tom Daley, Team GB’s poster boy and Olympic bronze medallist in the diving individual 10m platform, had even more reason to smile today as he celebrated some impressive results.

And it wasn’t long before the British team’s most popular tweeter shared the happy news with his 1.5 million followers…

But the brainy teenager is not done with education quite yet and has since announced plans to go back to school and finish two more maths modules. And if you thought he was hanging up his Speedos for a few months rest, think again – the World Junior Diving Championships in October are beckoning and young Mr Daley surely has his sights set on gold.
