These days it’s rare for a movie franchise to surivive for as many as six installments, but that’s what happened with The Fast and the Furious, which is now onto its sixth film.
Fast Six, which is still in production, stars Johnson as his character from Fast 5, Luke Hobbs, and sees the former pro wrestler heading up a cast including Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and, if the rumours are to be believed, pop star Rihanna to boot.
Johnson took a break while on the set of the movie earlier today to pose for the above snap featuring himself alongside newcomer to the series Gina Carano, which doesn’t give away anything about the movie’s plot but serves to illustrate the fact that Johnson’s biceps are currently about the size of his head.
Fast 6 was originally going to be shot back to back with the series’ seventh movie, though Johnson recently revealed that those plans have since been nixed.
Speaking to MTV, he said: “We were going to try that because it would make sense to have the same crew and have everybody there in one place, but I think we’re dealing with some weather issues, so from what I know we’re going to shoot ‘Fast 6’ first and then worry about ‘Fast 7’ a little later.”
The film is currently scheduled to be released in Britain on Friday 24 May 2013.
