Mo Farah lines up as the world’s fastest this year. His gutsy victory at last September’s world championships was one of the highlights of the athletics year. Tonight’s performance might depend on the rate of his recovery after last Saturday’s triumphant 10,000m final. And once again the most feared opposition will be wearing the vests of Ethiopia and Kenya, alongside Farah’s American training partner Galen Rupp, who ran so well to claim silver in the 10,000m. Farah and his wife are expecting twins soon after the Games and he aims to win a gold medal for each of them! Mike Costello
