Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and his old chum Jimmy Doherty are to team up on Channel 4 later this year as hosts of a new four-part cookery series entitled Jamie and Jimmy’s Food Fight Club.
The show will see the Essex twosome take over an old seaside café they used to frequent in the ‘80s and re-open it for the benefit of friends, locals and special guests, all of whom will be invited there for “a food fight where anything goes.”
The pair will also hit the road during the course of each episode, travelling to foreign lands to tackle other food challenges abroad and seeing how their culinary creations stack up against competition from all over the world.
Jamie said: “Jimmy and I have been mates for as long as I can remember and so it’s brilliant to be making a series with him. We’ve got up to a load of mischief already on the road in Europe, and now we’re taking it back to good old Essex.”
Jimmy added: “I’m so chuffed to be back working with my oldest mate on Food Fight Club. We’re out to show Great Britain and the world just how good our food has become. And it’s going to be so much fun. It’s a real celebration of all that’s great about British food. Bring it on!”
As you might expect for a show starring this twosome, it promises to be “mischievous,” “irreverent” and packed with “food knowledge and banter” in equal quantities.
Jamie and Jimmy’s Food Fight Club will air on Channel 4 later this year.
