Fantastic Mr Fox – 7:15pm, Film4


Based on the book by Roald Dahl, this animated comedy adventure sees an urbane fox (George Clooney) who cannot resist returning to his farm-raiding ways. But when a group of farmers retaliate, he must fight to help his community survive.

Gladiator – 9:00pm, ITV2

The loyal Roman General Maximus (Russell Crowe) is betrayed by the Emperor’s ambitious son who murders his father and seizes the throne that Maximus was due to inherit. Maximus is captured and becomes a gladiator before returning to avenge the murder of his family and Emperor.

10 Things I Hate About You – 9:00pm, E4

This American teen romantic comedy is a modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, about two sisters who are forbidden to date. Eventually their father relents and allows Bianca (Larisa Oleynik) to go with her date to prom, but only if her reclusive sibling Kat (Julia Stiles) goes too.

Million Dollar Baby – 9:00pm, More4

The story of hard working boxing trainer Frank (Clint Eastwood), his mysterious past and his search for atonement in helping underdog amateur boxer, Maggie (Hilary Swank), turn professional. Frank is estranged from his daughter and begins to bond paternally with Maggie.

Batman Begins – 10:35pm,ITV1

After seeing his parents killed, millionaire Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) relocates to Asia and is taught to fight evil. When he returns home to a crime-riddled Gotham City, he scares off corrupt criminals in his neighbourhood under the guise of Batman.

Transamerica – 12:45am, C4


The films looks at the story of a transsexual woman (Oscar-nominated Felicity Huffman) who receives a phone call from a 17-year-old jailed in New York who claims to be her son. Her therapist (Elizabeth Pena) refuses permission for her long-awaited sex-change surgery unless she faces her past, so she goes on a road trip to find him.
