Gok Wan to front new Channel 4 dating show Baggage

Based on an American format, the show will see contestants revealing their strange tastes and behaviour to prospective partners


Let homeless people sleep on your couch? Cry hysterically during sex? Still attached to your teddy bear? Then you could be just what Channel 4 is looking for.


Those are just some of the revelations made by contestants on the American version of dating show Baggage, due to hit UK screens later this year.

And who better to host the show than Gok Wan, who’s made a business out of our insecurities? Baggage will see the How to Look Good Naked presenter swap female body worries for the flaws of potential dating partners in the new show Channel 4 are tipping to become “as big as Cilla Black’s Blind Date”.

The eight part series involves prosective daters revealing their wacky secrets and strange flaws, the kind of information that isn’t usually discovered until post-marriage.

As the show unfolds, contestants unleash bigger and bigger suitcases containing deeper, darker  secrets – their baggage. And it’s not just their pride at stake as they face being ridiculed on national TV – one lucky secret-spiller will win a romantic holiday and, who knows, may even find love.
