A baby from the planet Krypton is sent to Earth and grows into mild-mannered Clarke Kent – a news reporter who harbours super powers to take on the evil forces that threaten the world.

Hero – 7:05pm, Film4

A Jet Li martial arts fantasy about a Chinese warrior who travels to the palace of the mighty ruler Qin to tell how he has slain three assassins who made attempts on the king’s life.

The Blind Side – 9:45pm Sky Movies Drama & Romance

Sandra Bullock’s Oscar-winning role as Leigh Anne Tuohy – a wealthy, white southern Christian who takes in a homeless teenager, helping him turn his life around and realise his potential to become an American football player.

The Fugitive – 10:00pm, ITV2

Dr Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford) is wrongly accused of murdering his wife and her lover and goes on the run to find the real killer and prove his innocence. But his efforts are hampered by Deputy Marshal Samuel (a brilliant Tommy Lee Jones) who doggedly pursues the wanted man.

Bully – 11:35pm, Film4

A powerful social commentary that morphs into authentic horror as sadistic teenage bully Bobby is brutally murdered by the friends he tormented, made all the more horrifying by the fact it’s based on a true story.

Wicker Park – 2:00am, Channel 4

American take on Gilles Mimouni’s romantic thriller L’Appartement, about Matthew (Josh Hartnett), an advertising executive who catches a glimpse of his former lover and tracks her down, only to discover she is a different person with an agenda of her own.
