Steve Carell and Keira Knightley are Seeking a Friend at the End of the World, apparently…

Watch a slightly confusing clip of the new film from director Lorene Scafaria

Have you ever been at a party and tried to join someone else’s conversation half-way through, when you’ve no idea what’s being discussed? Well, get ready to experience that awkward feeling all over again thanks to this new clip released to promote Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.

While fans of Steve Carell or Keira Knightley will doubtless be thrilled to see their favourite actors in this video, the rest of us might be excused for feeling a little baffled as the anonymous characters, well, they have a brief conversation about something seemingly inconsequential – and then it ends.  See for yourself:

However, a little research tells us that the film concerns a man (Carell) going on a road trip with one of his neighbours (Knightley) in an attempt to track down his high-school sweetheart before a meteor strikes the Earth, wiping out the whole of mankind.

Written and directed by Lorene Scafaria, it’ll be out in UK cinemas on Friday 13 July and presumably make more sense when seen in its entirety…
