Winners of best entertainment performance 2010 for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
Were you surprised when you won?
Dec: Very. We thought we were destined never to get one…
Had you prepared a speech?
Ant: We never do. Dec: It’s jinxing it a bit to prepare a speech. Ant: We like to keep it short and sweet and get off to the free bar.
Did you make the most of the free bar?
Ant: We did. We got a bit tipsy.
Dec: We ended up back at my house drinking champagne until the early hours.
Very rock ’n’ roll… did you smash any tellies?
Dec: Oh no, they’re fairly new. Not at my place.
Ant: You have to take your shoes off and everything.
Dec: I did drop a bottle of champagne on the floor.
Ant: Not in a rock ’n’ roll way.
Dec: No, it slipped out of my hand. I almost wept.
Where do you keep your Bafta?
Dec: mine is in my living room on a shelf.
Ant: I leave some awards up in Newcastle. Dec: With the family, just to let them know we’re getting on all right.
Which of your many awards meant the most?
Dec: I appreciate them all because they signify that people are still enjoying your work. The biggest shock was the first…
Ant: …best presenter at the National Television Awards. A proper grown-up award.
Dec: But it’s like trying to choose your favourite child — I love them all equally.
