Musical animated adventure, featuring the voices of Nicole Kidman, Elijah Wood and Robin Williams, about Mumble, a tap-dancing penguin who can’t sing – a terrible misfortune in a community who find their soulmates through song.

Men in Black – 9.05pm, Film4

Sci-fi comedy starring Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith as top secret agents responsible for regulating extra-terrestrial activity on Earth who end up on a mission to avert the planet’s destruction.

Man On Wire – 10.00pm, BBC2

Oscar-winning documentary following Frenchman Philippe Petit, who on August 7 1974 scaled the heights of Manhattan to walk along a tightrope between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.
