David Walliams meets Team GB swimmers

The comedian and charity swimmer headed to the Aquatic Centre to join Britain's medal hopefuls in the Olympic pool


David Walliams has become almost as well known for his swimming challenges as his comedic talents in recent years, so it comes as no surprise that he’s donned his trunks and joined team GB’s swimmers in training at the Olympic pool.


The comedian got involved in all aspects of the visit, taking part in a race and chatting to swimmers Keri-Anne Payne (10k marathon) and Fran Halsall (50m freestyle), before stepping in to conduct a sports massage on 4 x 100m freestyle relay swimmer, Adam Brown.

Walliams encouraged the public to get behind our athletes during the Games this summer: “My experience of swimming is not winning gold medals but having people cheer you on really, really makes a difference.” He also plugged Team GB’s official scarf (all profits going to the Olympic team) by adopting a uniquely-Walliams take on how to wear it…
