British TV is to see the world premiere of a new trailer for Prometheus, Ridley Scott’s hugely anticipated prequel to his 1979 sci-fi horror, Alien.

The preview is set to air on Channel 4 at around 9:10pm on Sunday – during the first ad break in the penultimate episode of conspiracy thriller Homeland – and will feature footage unseen in existing online trailers.

Viewers will be encouraged to respond to the preview via Twitter, using the hashtag #areyouseeingthis. During the second ad break, selected tweets will be shown on screen.

Prometheus stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba and Guy Pearce. It is released in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on 1 June.
