Sherlock, Fresh Meat, Celebrity Juice up for Bafta audience award

Great British Bake Off, Educating Essex and Frozen Planet also nominated for YouTube prize

For Celebrity Juice, Educating Essex, Fresh Meat, Frozen Planet and The Great British Bake Off, there’s good news and bad news.

The good news is, you’re nominated for the YouTube Audience Award at this year’s Baftas, the only gong voted for entirely by viewers! Congrats!

Now the bad news: Sherlock is up for it as well. Hey ho.

Voting is open now for the award, which will be handed out at this year’s TV Baftas on 27 May. Dara O Briain is to host the ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall, London.

The shortlist was drawn up by an expert panel of critics and industry figures, including Radio Times magazine’s TV editor, Alison Graham. See a clip of the experts discussing the award below – but the winner is entirely up to you.

And perhaps the result isn’t such a foregone conclusion: Sherlock was nominated for it last year and failed to win, with The Only Way Is Essex surprisingly taking the prize. The BBC1 drama’s fanbase has grown since then – but Celebrity Juice, Fresh Meat and Great British Bake Off also have armies of dedicated followers.

Whichever show you favour, you’ve got until 5pm on Thursday 24 May to register your vote.
