The first official shot has been released of former Spooks star Matthew Macfadyen and co-stars Jerome Flynn and Adam Rothenberg on the set of period drama Ripper Street.
Set during the aftermath of the Jack the Ripper murders in London’s East End, and currently filming in Dublin, the eight-part series from BBC America follows the Metropolitan Police H Division as they investigate the deaths.
Richard De Croce, BBC America’s senior vice-president of programming, said: “To this day, audiences continue to be fascinated by Jack the Ripper and the events in Whitechapel in the late 19th century.
“This script and cast are going to take us for a great ride.”
Ripper Street is expected to air in the autumn.
