Hollywood actress Demi Moore was taken to hospital last night after paramedics were called to her Los Angeles home, where they spent more than half an hour assessing her condition.
A representative confirmed Moore had sought “professional assistance” due to the stresses she was suffering. The actress split from husband Ashton Kutcher, star of US sitcom Two and a Half Men, in November.
“Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health,” said the representative.
Moore has recently been spotted looking worryingly thin and spoke earlier this month about her fears arising from the break-up.
“What scares me is that I’m going to ultimately find out at the end of my life that I’m really not loveable, that I’m not worthy of being loved, that there’s something fundamentally wrong with me,” she said.
But last night, Moore was inundated with messages of support from some of her 4.5 million Twitter followers, including celebrity friend and Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria, who tweeted “Sending my love and support to one of the most beautiful people i know @mrskutcher.”
Moore’s spokesperson said “She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.”
