Salivary glands at the ready, folks, as gourmet cooking competition MasterChef: the Professionals dishes up its last course of the series tonight (8pm, BBC2/BBC HD).
Another crowd of would-be (Michelin) superstars has been whittled down to three cooks whose culinary prowess has set them apart from the herd and impressed the famously hard-to-please Michel Roux Jr.
Steve Barringer, Claire Hutchings and Ash Mair are the last remaining contestants, all of whom have shone in different ways as the series has unfolded.
Twenty-five-year-old Steve has wowed the judges with a string of spot-on dishes, only faltering by occasionally piling too many flavours into his creations. Twenty-two-year-old Claire has shown herself to be highly innovative and organised, while thirty-four-year-old Aussie Ash has delighted the palates of Michel, Gregg and Monica Galetti with a string of Basque-inspired meals and impressed with his presentation skills.
