Bafta Guru launches with Tilda Swinton, Colin Firth and Quentin Tarantino

The Academy offers young creatives the chance to learn from the biggest names in media

Bafta has launched a new content-rich website aimed at helping and inspiring the latest generation of aspiring creatives.

Guru is designed for 18- to 30-year-olds and offers interviews, lectures, masterclasses and debates featuring some of the best minds in film, television and video games.

The Academy has a wealth of existing archive material but this will be added to continually and developed through strands such as The Big Question, in which star names will be asked to reveal the secrets of their success.

Those with an eye on a career in the media, whether they are make-up artists or wannabe directors, will be able to pick up tips from the top – and comment on what they discover.

In the New Year, it will be the turn of the users to put their ideas to the test when they will be invited to upload their profiles and showreels for comment.

To mark the arrival of Guru, Bafta have released video interviews with Tilda Swinton, Colin Firth and Quentin Tarantino as a taster of what the site has to offer.
