Roger Moore can’t understand Sean Connery – but anyway, who’s the best Bond?

The former 007 has had a go at Quantum of Solace, too... so why not vote in our tenuously related poll?

Roger Moore, star of The Spy Who Loved Me, the greatest James Bond movie ever made, has turned his trademark dry wit on a fellow former 007 – as well as the most recent film in the Bond franchise.

Speaking to Cambridge University’s Varsity newspaper, Moore said of Connery “Sean is a good actor, it’s a pity I can’t understand what he’s saying,” before going on to describe 2008 movie Quantum of Solace as “a long disjointed commercial”.

Moore can claim to have appeared in more official 007 movies than any other actor – he did seven to Connery’s six – but is he the best Bond ever? That is the question.

Vote in our poll below – and, listen, before you start going on about Never Say Never Again, it’s not part of the official Bond canon and nor is that spoof Casino Royale with David Niven in, OK? You may post comments about Bob Holness at the bottom of the page…
