What’s the best Christmas film of all time?

Help us discover the best festive movie ever - vote for your favourite in our poll

The Sound of Music, Jason and the Argonauts, Shrek…these are just some of the “Christmas movies” that don’t qualify for this poll. Certainly, they’re bedrock titles whose appearance in the schedules in December signify a couple of days off work, the Queen’s speech and some chocolates in a tin.

But what we’re looking for here are the best movies with a Christmas theme or that take place over the festive period. So, alongside the more traditional It’s a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street and White Christmas, we leave out a mince pie for The French Connection (New York cop Gene Hackman chasing down some scumbags dressed as Santa), Tales from the Crypt (Joan Collins murdering her husband on Christmas Eve) and Die Hard 1 and 2 (Bruce Willis trying to get home for the holidays but waylaid by terrorists – twice).

Your job is to choose your favourite and help us draw up our wish list. And, yes, there is a Bond movie…On Her Majesty’s Secret Service includes a festive sequence in the Swiss Alps.

The results will be revealed in a future issue of Radio Times magazine… Thank you!
