Phil and Kirstie’s Vacation, Vacation, Vacation sent packing

Holiday programme "didn't resonate with viewers" says Channel 4

Channel 4 has axed Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer’s holiday programme Vacation, Vacation, Vacation after just one series.  The broadcaster said the show, which saw the presenters go on a mix of luxury and budget holidays together, “didn’t resonate with viewers”.

Initially airing in March this year, the eight-part travel series enjoyed mediocre ratings throughout its run, settling at around 1.5 million viewers per episode – lower than Channel 4 would have hoped for the popular pairing.

The news follows reports earlier this month that another Phil and Kirstie vehicle Relocation, Relocation, Relocation is unlikely to return to our screens in the foreseeable future.

However, it appears the duo – best known for their property programmes – still have plenty of work to be getting on with…

A Channel 4 spokesperson said: “Vacation, Vacation, Vacation didn’t resonate with viewers as well as we’d hoped and we have no plans to bring it back. Kirstie and Phil are currently working on several big Channel 4 series including Kirstie’s Handmade Britain, Phil Spencer: Secret Agent, and a new series of Location, Location, Location.”
