MTV Europe presenter Laura Whitmore, one-time King of the Jungle Joe Swash and comedian Russell Kane will all be heading Down Under next month to present the testicle-eating reality show’s spin-off programme.

For Irish-born Whitmore, described as the “sexy newbie” by Swash, hosting IACGMOoHN! will be her first outing as the face of a genuinely mainstream TV property.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the ‘I’m A Celebrity’ family. I can’t wait to get stuck into jungle life, though I will try my best to avoid all those creepy crawlies. I’m really looking forward to getting into all sorts of mischief and mayhem with Joe and Russell. The excitement level is officially off the scale!” said Whitmore in a statement issued by the broadcaster.

Swash will need no introduction to viewers of I’m a Celebrity…, having bested the Bushtucker trials in 2008 to emerge as the winner of the eighth series of the show.

Russell Kane, a veteran of the last two series’ of I’m a Celebrity’s sister show, will provide the programme’s analysis, scrutinising viewers’ texts, tweets and Facebook comments.

“I’m as stoked as a Victorian fireplace to be going back jungle-side. Sharing a Portacabin with Joe: what’s not to love? And as for Whitmore… Phwoar!” said the comic.

With the show’s new hosts in place and Ant & Dec on board to present the main programme, as Joe Swash says, “now all we need to know is the line up!”

Who would you like to see take on the bush tucker trials this winter?
