NCIS video game announced

New multi-platform game features four new cases by the TV show's writers

Fans of US naval crime drama NCIS will be able to step into the shoes of Leroy Jethro Gibbs and the team this October when the first ever video game based on the series is released.

Produced by Ubisoft, NCIS will be available on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC, 3DS and Nintendo Wii.

The game features four original criminal investigations written by the creative team behind the TV show.

Players will be able to investigate crime scenes as agents Ziva David and Tony DiNozzo, conduct forensic analyses as Abby Sciuto, perform autopsies as Ducky Mallard, interrogate and break suspects as special agent Gibbs, and use satellite tracking to apprehend bad guys on the run as special agent McGee.

Gamers will also travel to a raft of exotic locations, from a casino in Atlantic City to a hotel in Dubai as they attempt to piece together the connections between the four different cases.

But the real appeal of the game for fans of the long-running JAG spin-off will likely be the chance to interact and bond with the NCIS characters and observe their humour, personal foibles and defining characteristics.

NCIS is released on Friday 28 October.
