Glamorous Strictly contestant Nancy Dell’Olio had her way this weekend when her vow to send the dance contest to the top of the reality ratings came to pass.

The show pulled in 9 million viewers, and more than 40 per cent of the television audience on Saturday night with one of its oldest line-ups ever.

Nancy is a nimble 50, but petite 62-year-old Lulu was shocked to get paired with towering Brendan Cole, who celebrated the union by throwing her over his shoulder.

Big Brother – in the swim

The cleaners had barely finished dusting down the Big Brother house when a new batch of contestants showed up.

The arrival of guest star Pamela Anderson was the cue for one and all to slip into their skimpiest swimwear for a date with the star in the sauna.

And only hours later, they were at it again, with Big Brother instructing the housemates to don Pammy-style cossies for a Baywatch-themed challenge.

While the swimsuited residents dutifully paid honour to the former beach babe, Pamela regally demanded her own bedroom.

The X Factor – divide and conquer

When the competition gets tough, the tough get going, in this case on Facebook, where X Factor hopeful Chrissie Pitt’s ex-bandmates let rip for dropping them to go solo.

But the tearful Chrissie was only acting on judges’ orders, as it was Kelly Rowland who urged her to ditch her Twisted sisters for the audition.
