Die Hard 5 director named

20th Century Fox mainstay John Moore to helm latest instalment in the Bruce Willis action franchise

John Moore has emerged as 20th Century Fox’s choice to direct the latest Die Hard movie.

Moore has good action experience, having helmed wartime drama Behind Enemy Lines, aeroplane adventure Flight of the Phoenix and kick-ass video game spin-off Max Payne.

And since his entire catalogue has been made for 20th Century Fox, the studio knows exactly what it is getting.

The upcoming movie will see Bruce Willis reprise his role as John McClane, the New York cop who stumbles across deadly international terrorism plots so often it’s getting suspicious.

Who exactly McClane will be facing in the fifth instalment is as yet unknown, but it’s rumoured the story will involve the ageing cop’s son, prompting suggestions that Fox want Willis, 56, to pass on the baton and ensure a future for the blockbusting franchise.
