Rumours that Little Britain’s Matt Lucas and David Walliams are to end their comedy partnership are entirely false, say the stars. So is a claim that there will not be a second series of their hit Come Fly with Me.
“Some Tweeters and newspapers assuming that because we are doing our own shows, me and Dave have split up. We haven’t!” said Lucas on Twitter.
BBC comedy spokeswoman Cassandra Power also took to her personal Twitter account to say: “Fear not there will be a second series of Come Fly with Me in the future”.
A BBC insider tells RadioTimes.com that this does not mean the second series is in production or even being written at the moment because the two stars are working on other projects. David Walliams is filming Wall of Fame for Sky1, while Lucas has been making a BBC1 pilot for The Matt Lucas Awards, a television reworking of his BBC Radio 2 series.
Power later tweeted: “Just watched The Matt Lucas Awards… Brilliant! The series can’t come quick enough!”
