Titchmarsh and Dimmock top TV gardeners vote

RadioTimes.com pick their favourite gardening presenters and shows

RadioTimes.com users overwhelmingly voted Alan Titchmarsh and Charlie Dimmock the best male and female TV gardeners in our recent survey. The presenters each reaped more than a third of their respective votes, with over 3,300 of you taking part.

Ex-Gardeners’ World presenter Monty Don was your second favourite male presenter, with another alumnus of the show, the late Geoff Hamilton, edging garden design expert Diarmuid Gavin into fourth place.

Gardeners’ World’s Carol Klein was the female runner-up, with Pippa Greenwood and Rachel de Thame close behind.

Meanwhile, Gardeners’ World was voted the best TV gardening programme. The perennial BBC2 show garnered nearly twice as many votes as its nearest rival, garden makeover series Ground Force, which was originally fronted by Titchmarsh and Dimmock.

In third place was The Victorian Kitchen Garden, which featured master gardener Harry Dodson and was first shown back in 1987.
