Simon Cowell is taking a step away from his beloved entertainment formats to produce a new film.

The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent boss is set to produce A Life in the Day, a feature film about The Beatles and their manager Brian Epstein, reports Deadline.

The biopic will follow Epstein, who died in 1967 at the age of 32. He discovered the Beatles while selling records in his father’s store, and despite not having experience as a manager, became convinced he could make the band bigger then Elvis Presley.

The script is written by Tony Gittelson. Cowell will produce alongside Stuart Ford from IM Global, David Permut and Dylan Sellers
