Jake Gyllenhaal joins Ryan Reynolds in space sci-fi film from Deadpool writers

Jake Gyllenhaal is about to discover something out of this world.


The Southpaw actor is set to co-star with Ryan Reynolds and Rebecca Ferguson in sci-fi film Life, reports Deadline, which centres around the crew of the International Space Station who discover signs of life in a sample from Mars.

Written by Deadpool writing duo Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the film will be directed by Child 44’s Daniel Espinosa.


Wernick and Reese enjoyed enormous success with Marvel’s wisecracking Deadpool who took the box office by storm last month, outperforming all predictions and immediately earning a sweary sequel in which Reynolds will star.
