Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford performed a relationship of galactic proportions as Princess Leia and Han Solo in Star Wars. But now Fisher has revealed for the first time that she and Ford were having an affair during filming of the 1976 original Star Wars.
Fisher is going public with the secret she has kept under wraps for 40 years, in her new memoir The Princess Diarist, opening up about the three-month-long affair with the then-married father of two.
“It was so intense,” Fisher told People magazine. “It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend.”
At the time, Fisher was just 19, while Ford was 33 and married to first wife Mary Marquardt. He reportedly had a heads-up about the book, and was send a draft copy.
After rediscovering the journals she kept while filming on location in London, Fisher decided to share her experience and her memories.

She details how she felt after they spent their first night together following a birthday party for director George Lucas.
“I looked over at Harrison. A hero’s face — a few strands of hair fell over his noble, slightly furrowed brow,” she writes. “How could you ask such a shining specimen of a man to be satisfied with the likes of me?”
She adds: “I was so inexperienced, but I trusted something about him. He was kind.”
As for reports that the autobiography will reveal how Ford was in bed? Not likely, says Fisher.
I would never talk about how someone was in any furniture–chair, bed, coffee table or otherwise
