Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Las Vegas's mobster connections have long fascinated movie-makers - Martin Scorsese memorably took the plunge with Casino. This TV movie explores the early days of the gambling capital of America and details Ray Sharkey and Gary Busey's battle for control. It's a tad predictable and suffers in comparison to Bugsy, which dealt with a similar subject. On the plus side, however, there is a classy, very watchable supporting cast that includes Martin Landau, Julie Carmen, Dylan McDermott and The Last Seduction's Linda Fiorentino in an early role. Released on video in the UK as The Las Vegas Story.
