Madcap comedy starring Chris Elliott as spoilt rich boy Nathanial Mayweather, whose plan for a luxury cruise goes awry when he mistakenly boards a fishing boat manned by a drunken crew of roughnecks.
This so-so "fish out of water" comedy gets low marks for originality but succeeds in raising the odd laugh. Chris Elliott (Groundhog Day) plays Nathanial Mayweather, a spoilt brat who mistakes a fishing boat for a luxury cruise liner and gets a lesson in life from the salty crew. Elliott is fine in the lead role, although the best performances come from the likes of Brian Doyle-Murray and Brion James. The eclectic cast also features cameos from John Waters regular Ricki Lake, West Side Story's Russ Tamblyn and late-night chat-show host David Letterman.
