Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

Adapted from Joy Adamson's bestseller, this sequel to the ever-popular Born Free follows the fate of Elsa the lioness's three cubs after their mother is killed. The scenery is stunning and the cubs are as cute and cuddly as ever as the Adamsons embark on a struggle to keep their charges out of the zoo. Unfortunately, their 700-mile journey across the wilds of Kenya to the Serengeti National Park has too few moments of high drama. Try as they might, Susan Hampshire and Nigel Davenport cannot quite replace Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers as Joy and George.
