After a series of box-office hits, director Raj Kanwar slightly missed his step with this epic tale of injustice. Instead of concentrating on the fascinating rivalry between nanny Sushma Seth and Mahima Chaudhary, too much time is wasted on clumsily staged action sequences. Although Sanjay Dutt looks the part as the commando seeking to avenge the wrongful arrest of his father, Chandrachur Singh struggles as the crooked lawyer working for his malicious father-in-law, Raj Babbar. Mahima makes the most of a dual role (she plays Singh's wife and a prostitute), but this is disappointing considering the talent on view.
