Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

An engaging comedy with Van Johnson working for a law firm and trying to conceal an allergy to alcohol brought on during the war when the cellar he was hiding in flooded with brandy. This is where Elizabeth Taylor comes in. She's the boss's daughter and an amateur shrink, who sets out to cure our hero of his allergy. There's also a subplot about Johnson deciding whether to become a rich man's brief or take up arms for the poor. You'd think that prissy old MGM would not wish to encourage boozing, though Miss Taylor, in her first adult role, could probably persuade any man to overcome any fears or phobias.
