The greatest player in Ridgefield College history uses his influence and reputation to get his only son, a sickly, uncoordinated nerd, on the college football team with comic results.
A college football caper redesigned as a vehicle for Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. Lewis is the son of a wealthy college alumnus father, who wants his singularly unathletic student son to play for his own old football team, and hires fellow-student and pigskin star Martin to train him. After the requisite number of struggles, Jerry triumphs by scoring the winning goal in the climactic game of the season. The movie, sparse on laughs, is even less amusing to those with no understanding of the intricacies of American football.
