Review

A star rating of 3 out of 5.

Henry Smith (Haley) is an unexceptional chap who wins a radio competition to find "Mr Average American". Unscrupulous advertising men Barcourt (Menjou) and Brady (Oakie), seize the opportunity to exploit Smith using his very averageness to sell any number of items. Their plans falter however, when Smith falls in love. Fast paced satire on the advertising world benefits from the strong playing of veterans Menjou and Oakie, who shine among a worthy cast. Better than average fun.
