Gory horror sequel starring Donald Pleasence. It's Halloween and Michael Myers is back in his home town ready to trick or treat. Ten years have elapsed since he last went on the rampage, and on this occasion his niece is the target.

Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

After the misguided, Michael Myers-less Halloween III: Season of the Witch, the production team got its act together, and the result is this competent, if yawningly empty, slasher thriller. Danielle Harris steps into the Jamie Lee Curtis role, playing one of the last surviving relatives of the incarcerated psychopath, who once again escapes and heads back to his home turf for some more Halloween blood-letting. Donald Pleasence, acting only marginally less deranged than Myers, reprises his role as Dr Loomis from the first two films, but by now any genuine menace was seeping away fast.
